Dominion Energy reminds customers of available energy assistance

Posted

Dominion Energy representatives were on Capitol Hill this week to promote the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which helps eligible households pay their energy bills through federal funding.

In 2024, over 66,000 Dominion Energy customers received around $18.3 million in energy assistance.

This event, hosted by the National Energy & Utility Affordability Coalition, allowed utilities and human service organizations to meet with lawmakers.

Kaytee Watson, customer assistance manager at Dominion Energy South Carolina, stated they want to help customers with the cost of bills.

“Last year, thousands of Dominion Energy South Carolina customers received LIHEAP assistance. We encourage anyone facing hardships to reach out to us so we can connect them with programs like LIHEAP and other resources. Together, we can ensure that everyone has access to the support they need to keep their homes warm and safe."

To learn more about LIHEAP or to apply, customers should reach out to their local community action agency. A list of agencies can be found at DominionEnergySC.com/assistance.

EnergyShare is funded through contributions from Dominion Energy and donations from customers, employees and retirees. The South Carolina Department of Administration's Office of Economic Opportunity manages this program.

Dominion Energy offers payment plans for customers struggling to pay their bills. Customers will get help finding the best option for their current situation.
