Dominion Energy and SCANA request that the Public Service Commission approve a “Customer Benefit Plan” as a condition of the sale – or merger, as they call it.

Is this “customer” the stockholders or the ratepayers? We don’t need an answer to that because the sale is a terrible idea. We need the Public “Dis-Service” Commission to finalize everything to do with the VC Summer nuclear reactor project BEFORE they make any rulings about a merger.

Let’s look at the proposed one-time rate credit totaling $1.3 billion – the total Dominion is willing to “give” ratepayers. Evenly divided by 700,000 ratepayers the total would be $1,857.14 each. However, they are not telling you about the ratepayers who will receive much more than $1000.

Some may get as much as $10,000 or more because they use more electricity than the average ratepayer. This would not be bad but they are making it sound as if everyone will receive $1,000. You won’t.

The average ratepayers will get less than $1000. Most of us will receive a few hundred dollars if we are lucky.

Hector Alatorre of Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line has revealed that Dominion is not really interested in buying SCANA except to get a foothold in SC so they can bring their pipeline through our state to Georgia, as they have done in many other states.

Dominion has used imminent domain laws in other states to take land without compensation. They can move you if you are in the way of their pipeline into Georgia. We are in their way. They are hoping they have found a way to run over us.

Dominion is manipulating our Pubic Service Commission to shut up the critics. The PSC let them add their merger plan in the rate increase hearings. The PSC needs to see this for what it is. We need to stop Dominion! We need to get our money back from SCANA!
