Dutch Fork continued its winning ways on the road, while defending Class 2A champion Gray Collegiate still seeks its first victory of 2022.

Both teams took part in the Cam Newton Classic held in Atlanta, Ga. Saturday:

Dutch Fork 21, Creekside (Ga.) 13

Jarvis Green scored two touchdowns and rushed for 175 yards, Landon Danley returned a fumble for a score and was one of four players with four interceptions on the top-ranked Silver Foxes’ defense which forced five turnovers.

Green had a 70-yard scoring run which was followed in the first quarter by Danley's touchdown to give Dutch Fork a 14-13  halftime lead. He, Danley and Jonathan Hunt also rotated at quarterback with Aliam Appler sidelined due to injury.

After the Tribe got within 14-13, Green scored on a 15-yard run with 1:59 left in the third quarter. The Silver Foxes,' Jaylen Hinton, who had 11 tackles, sealed the victory with an interception  with 1:16 left in  the fourth quarter.

This was the 41st consecutive regular season win for the Silver Foxes and 37th straight on the road. The win also gave Region 5-5A teams a perfect 5-0 mark for the second straight week.

The region with Dutch Fork, Chapin, Lexington, River Bluff and White Knoll are a combined 13-2 on the season. Up next for the Silver Foxes (3-0) is a trip to Stratford, which was defeated 28-14 by Lexington Sept. 2.

South Aiken 48, Gray Collegiate 35

Despite a career-high 401 yards and three touchdowns by quarterback Riley Staton, the fourth ranked War Eagles dropped to 0-3 on the season.
