Favorite Christmas Toy Memories

Posted

Christmas is about family, faith and creating happy memories. As adults when we think of Christmas, thoughts of a favorite toy we received as a child will come to mind. We want to share with you some Christmas memories of favorite toys from folks when they were children.

Jay Law said Santa brought him several Tonka trucks for Christmas:

“It was 1974 he said and I played with my trucks for years.”

Law said it was a blessing for him to recently give his Tonka trucks to his granddaughter:

Phyllis Lloyd said she was 7 years old when she received her Tiny Tears doll for Christmas.

“She was my favorite toy. I have good memories playing with her.”

Lisa Watkins has fond memories of playing with her Barbie dolls:

“Barbie dolls were my favorite toys I got for Christmas.”

She said she also took her Barbie van with her to the beach.

Allen Riffey was 8 and wanted Santa to bring him a dump truck and bulldozer for Christmas:

“On Christmas day they were under the tree and I couldn’t wait to play with them.”

Wayne Augustine said he was 6 when he received his Lionel train set for Christmas. He said he played with his train set for years.

If you haven’t seen the Christmas lights in the Gilbert Community Park, you have until New Year’s Day.

Gilbert Pack 60 Scouts will meet on Sunday, Jan. 2 to remove the lights off of the trees and scrubs. Other volunteers will be on hand to help. Hundreds of people have seen the Christmas lights in the park this year.
