Flock to the Block at AHS Oct. 12

Airport High Eagles have a treat in store. Eagles for a Cause is presenting Flock to the Block, 4-7 p.m., Oct. 12, at Airport High School. It’s the annual food truck festival before the school’s Homecoming game. The event is free.

Flock to the Block features retail, craft and food truck vendors and entertainment.

Flock to the Block is a nonprofit established to join alumni, friends, families, and neighbors together to serve schools and the community. Our goal is to plan events that will give back, educate and support the community. For info, call Lauren Aull at 803-238-299.

The Airport High School Class of 1988 held its 30-year reunion last Sept. 22 at Vis-Before the storm, West Columbia Fire Chief Chris Smith was asked to speak with the The Weather Channel about the City’s preparations for the storm. The Weather Channel’s Chris Bruin was at the West Columbia Riverwalk Park and Amphitheater to talk to Bruin.

Smith told Bruin city crews were busy before the storm getting all the trash picked up so it was not blown around.

“We’re making sure our equipment is ready,” said Smith. ta Union in Columbia. It included a private party with pool tables, outdoor area, music and food.

As the nation waited for the onslaught of Hurricane Florence, West Columbia got some attention.
