Village Square Theatre, located at 105 Caughman Rd. in Lexington, is inviting the public to come see Disney’s “Freaky Friday The Musical” from Sept. 12-28.
The show, based on the 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers and Disney productions, follows a mother and daughter who swap bodies. As they spend the day living as one another, they come to understand each other’s struggles and strengthen their bond of love and respect.
Leighton Mount and Katie Godfrey will portray the mother, Katherine, in separate casts, while Eliza England and Jennings Michaels will share the role of the daughter, Ellie, in separate casts.
The show is directed by Robert Harrelson, with choreography by Krista Haidle and music directed by John Norris.
Opening weekend performances are scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Performances during the remaining two weekends will be held on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, Aug. 22, for season members and Wednesday, Aug. 27, for the general public.
Ticket prices start at $18 for those 17 and under, $20 for students, military personnel and seniors, and $23 for adults.
