Spectrum is offering free internet access to K-12 and college students.

Spectrum owner Charter Communications will offer free broadband and wifi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have broadband at any service up to 100 mbps.

Charter is a broadband provider and cable operator with more than 29 million customers in 41 states.

For eligible low-income families without school-aged children, Charter offers lowcost broadband programs with speeds of 30 mbps.

Charter will also open wifi hotspots for public use.

Charter’s network will ensure government offices, 1st responders, health care facilities and businesses – maintain connectivity.

The network sustains maximum capacity during peak use in the evenings.

A surge during the day is well within the network’s capabilities to manage.

Installation fees will be waived for student homes.
