A gaston man died Aug. 26 when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle on SC 6.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said the accident happened at 5:30 am on SC 6 at Mimosa Drive in Gaston.

According to Coroner Fisher, Christopher Scott Ledbetter, 39, of Gaston was operating a dirt bike with no lights when he failed to yield the right-of way and was struck by a truck traveling east on Hwy 6. Ledbetter was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries shortly after arrival. The driver of the other vehicle was treated at the scene and released.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
