Congratulations to Sarah Claas of White Knoll High School, who along with several students from River Bluff High, won an award in the Lexington Medical Center art competition, “Art of Healing,” co-sponsored by the Columbia Museum of Art. The students were tasked with depicting their interpretation of healing and health. Class won the “CEO’s Choice” award with her piece titled, “A Year To Hold Onto.” All of the winning art is on display at the Columbia Museum of Art.
There are two “Blessing Box” locations in Red Bank; these are small outdoor cupboards with nonperishable foods for anyone who has a need. On Platt Springs Road, there is one located in the parking lot of the Radius White Knoll Church, and on Old Barnwell Road just off South Lake Drive there is one at Red Bank United Methodist. If you have extra canned goods or other nonperishables to give, feel free to put them in the boxes (or in the case of Red Bank UMC you may also drop them off at the office during business hours). Thanks to these congregations and those in the community who are helping to stock these boxes for our neighbors in need.
Happy birthday this week to Rhett Taylor, Ashley Taylor, Ashley Cooper, Andrew Snelgrove, Gwen Luther, Jacob Barr, Lila Knight, Linda Booth, Robert Franks, and Tara Craigo.
