The 15th annual Christmas at Red Bank concert usually at Red Bank United Methodist Church has been moved online to Sunday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 pm. Go to www.rbumc.com and click on the video link to see the live broadcast on YouTube. Familiar faces this year include Todd Mathis, James Etheridge, Jr., Band of Pilgrims, Prettier Than Matt, Darren Woodlief, Buck and Rhonda Mooneyhan, Tom Coolidge and Sofia Lynch. Donations will be solicited during the broadcast for Mission Lexington.
TO GET IN the holiday spirit, come to the Red Bank Christmas Tree Lighting at the Nazareth Road county park at 6:30 pm Friday. Hosts Church At White Knoll will have free hot dogs and chips, a DJ playing Christmas music, a hay ride, Christmas cookies, hot cocoa and a picture booth. At 7 pm, the Polar Express will play on an outdoor movie screen, Bring your own chair. After the movie they’ll light the tree and blow in some (artificial) snow to play in.
DOLLAR GENERAL on Platt Springs Road has a Toy Drive for Mission Lexington for donations of new toys or money. Local Hell’s Angels are collecting canned food for Harvest Hope Food Bank.
