At a Winter Guards competition at White Knoll High School, I saw a lesson being taught before my eyes. Schools from across the state that compete in sports against each other attended. During breaks, the judges played music and the kids were line dancing, laughing and having fun.
It did not matter if others were from a school that beat yours in football.
They were proving that getting along and having fun regardless of race, age or school is what it was all about.
This is a lesson all of us could learn.
