Gilbert man killed in 2-vehicle crash Feb. 13

Michael James Turner, 65, of Gilbert, was identified as the individual who died in a two-vehicle collision on Feb. 13 in the 1900 block of Calks Ferry Road in Lexington County.

The crash happened at 5:20 p.m., according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Turner was traveling west on Calks Ferry Road when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a vehicle traveling eastbound.

After the collision, Turner’s vehicle hit a tree. He was wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the coroner.

The other driver was not injured.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
