Centerville Elementary School now has its very own spirit rock! Vulcan Materials Co. located in Batesburg-Leesville donated the large granite rock to the school. However, help was needed to move the rock to the elementary school, and moving a stone that large would be costly. EMG Services in Gilbert saw a post on the school’s Facebook page about needing help to move the rock.
EMG Services decided to donate its time, expertise and energy to bring the large rock to Centerville Elementary. Now that the spirit rock is in place at the school, families will be able to rent the rock. Once the spirit rock has been rented, a custom message by an artist can be created for someone. Plans for the spirit rock include messages for birthday celebrations, accomplishments and special occasions. The spirit rock was placed near the school’s front entrance and can easily be seen from Augusta Highway.
