GILBERT NEWS: Lake Murray VFW plans Karen Zaledzieski fundraiser

A special fundraiser and dinner will be given by Lake Murray VFW Post 6740 for Karen Zaledzieski on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. Karen Zaledzieski is a member of the VFW Post 6740 Auxiliary. Zaledzieski’s service to the post auxiliary has been second to none, and now she is in need. The Post 6740 Auxiliary is having this event for her to return to her what she has done for so many.

Dinner tickets are $20 and are available online at vfw6740.com. The meal includes an appetizer with a choice of caprese skewers, stuffed mushrooms or bruschetta, a salad and an entrée with a choice of spaghetti, lasagna or Chicken Scarpariello. Children’s tickets are $10. Desserts will be available at an extra charge. Lake Murray VFW Post 6740 is located at 950 Rock N Creed Road off U.S. Highway 378 near Leesville.

Gilbert High School Band members are beyond excited about their new band trailer. Their new trailer will carry their instruments, uniforms and equipment to each of the games and concerts they attend. The Gilbert High School Marching Indians would like to thank the businesses, community partners and individual sponsors who made the band trailer possible. The Gilbert High School Marching Indians said they are proud to roll into their upcoming season representing a community that backs them so strongly. Shiloh United Methodist Church invites the community to attend its suicide prevention and awareness seminar. The guest speaker will be licensed professional counselor Ken Kelly of Resolutions Group. Kelly will share valuable insights, resources and hope for those affected by suicide and mental health challenges. He will have real conversations, hope and support.
