Lexington District 1 has bought less than an acre in Gilbert for $125,000.

The 0.84 acre property at 4169 Augusta Highway is owned by Joshua Schuck and Mary Oxendine, according to tax records.

District 1 spokesperson Mary Beth Hill said the site is next to land the district bought in September 2017 for a new elementary school.

“The purchase of the site provides additional frontage and improved sight lines for parents coming to and from the school,” said Hill in a press release.

Lexington 1 CEO Jeff Salters handled the transaction.

Since August 2017, District 1 has purchased:

• 14.954 acres for $736,845

• 4.822 acres for $229,045

• 0.94 acres for $157,900

• 0.84 acres for $125,000.

The board also approved the exchange of a parcel of land to Efrain Zavala-Alavez at a cost to the district of $9,750.
