Rainfall did not prevent a Fourth of July evening of baseball and fireworks at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
After a 35-minute pregame delay to clear the field of the protective tarp, the first annual "Fish Fry" took place without a hitch. The 7-inning exhibition saw the Lexington County Blowfish split into two teams - the Blowfish and Glowfish.
At stake was a serving of Dip-N-Dots to the winning team by the loser as stipulated by co-owner Bill Shanahan.
The exhibition saw pitchers batting against each other, hitters taking a turn on the mound and even assistant coach Matt Ribera take a swing for the Blowfish.
Ribera struck out to end the exhibition in favor of the Glowfish 8-3.
Lexington County will have another day of respite from Coastal Plain League play before starting a stretch of 12 games (10 in league, two exhibition) in 11 days. It starts at Luther Williams Field against Macon, who had a 2-0 lead in this past Sunday's matchup which was rained out.
