MISSION MARKET: Nov, 9, 8 am- 1 pm, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1130 St. Peters Rd., Lexington. Vendors, This & That Shop selling crafts and homemade items, Sharon’s Corner Bake Shop, a casserole shop, and The Cafe. Proceeds benefit the church’s charities.

Operation Turkey: Nov. 27, 3:30-8:30 pm and Nov. 28, 10 am-1 pm. At Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church Gym, 5503 Sunset Boulevard, Lexington. For the 25th year Saxe Gotha members will prepare and deliver over 1000 Thanksgiving Day meals to people in need in our community. Food and fun

Jamil Food Truck Jamboree: Nov. 20, 12 pm at Jamil Shrine Center. Local food trucks come together. Live music by Heart Shaped City. A beer wagon will be present for adults with proper ID. FREE bounce house, small train rides, and face painting for children 12 and under. Admission $5, children 12 and under free.

LUNCH & LEARN: Nov. 12, noon-1 pm, Oakleaf Village, 800 N. Lake Dr. Lexington. Free & open to the public. Reservations required, 803-399-0065. Guest speaker: Charles Black, Attorney Topic Elder Care Legal Issues.

Old Timey Day: Nov. 9, 10 am-2 pm at Still Waters Baptist Church, 374 Delmar Rd, Leesville. Event based on the remarkable story of Hephzibah Jenkins Townsend. She was an inspiration to many for her support of missions work. Come dressed in vintage attire, sign up for tea time, browse the homemade craft fair, play games, watch artisan demonstrations and have lunch.

Vision for Mission Dinner: Nov. 9, 5:30 pm at Calvary Chapel Kids Building, 1156 Barr Rd, Lexington. Buffet dinner, silent auction, time of worship, updates/slideshows and personal testimonies. Tickets: $15 per person.

Holiday Events

Christmas Craft Show & Holiday Bazaar: Nov. 9, 9 am-2 pm at Lexington Middle School. Over 100 crafters and vendors from all over the Midlands will showcase their talents and creations to get a jump start on holiday home décor or gifts. Free parking, free admission. Silent auction to benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Holiday Concert: Dec. 8, 3 pm at Lexington 1 Performing Arts Center at Lexington High School. This concert by the Lexington Community Band is free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome to attend.

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA: Dec. 14, noon, 11th annual wreath-laying ceremony at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4107 Percival Rd., Columbia. Parking will be at the Blue Cross Blue Shield parking lot at 4101 Percival Rd., across from the cemetery and you will be shuttled into the cemetery. Shuttles start at 10:30 am for general public and 9 am for volunteers. No parking in the cemetery on Saturday, but limited handicapped parking on a first come first serve basis with proper identification. AARP Smart Driver Class: Nov. 12, 9 am-1 pm at Tri City Leisure Center, 485 Brooks Ave., West Columbia. Completion of the course may allow you to receive a discount on your auto insurance. Veterans Dinner: Nov. 9, 6 pm at the Legion Hut, 211 American Legion Drive in Lexington. Veterans are being honored at Post and Unit 7’s dinner with a program entitled “100 Years of Service”.
