Haley co-leads Trump campaign

Posted

Former Lexington resident Nikki Haley will lead President Trump’s state re-election campaign.

Although Haley had endorsed Marco Rubio, the President named her his 1st UN ambassador and now his campaign co-chair.

The former governor and the current Gov. Henry Mc-Master will co-chair Trump’s state team with US Sens. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott and Congressman Joe Wilson of Springdale.

McMaster was the 1st state elected official to endorse Trump for President.

Trump won 55% to 41% in SC in 2016 against Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Since the President faces no competition in SC for his re-election, the Republican Party decided not to hold a presidential primary.

Republicans are waiting for a court to rule on a lawsuit to force a primary.

On the Democratic side, former Vice President Joe Biden is expected to win the SC Democrat primary.

Biden is leading all Democrat candidates with 27% of the expected vote in the latest national polling.
