Have breakfast with Santa Claus

Pelion American Legion Post 101 will present “Breakfast with Santa” December 15, -11 am. at the Pelion Community Center, 951 Pine Street. Tickets are $5 in advance at the Pelion Senior Center (894-4351) until December 14. The Post will also be collecting nonperishable food items and canned goods for local community food banks. For information, call Debra Daniels at 205-910-4218.

Pelion Elementary School held “A Night Under the Stars” December 11. Many fun activities were planned for students and parents focusing on the stars, constellations, and outer space. Students and parents also enjoyed dinner at the event.

Forts Pond Elementary will hold a yard sale December 15, 7 am-noon. Proceeds will benefit FPES families in need.

The FPES Service Seekers are collecting sweet treats and holiday decorations for 90 veterans. Items can be donated at the front office or email Hcribb@lexington1.net .

Ms. Siceloff and Mrs. Parker have partnered up for Lexington One’s Computer Science education week and have students participate in “Hour of Code” week. Students performed one full hour of coding.

Brooke Stalnaker attended the Trotting Round the Tree horse show in Clemson December 1 and 2. She came home with two first place ribbons which she won in western classes and a third and fifth she won in English classes. All Pro dads will meet on December 21 at 7 a.m.

Pelion Library will have technology training December 19 at 10:30 am. Registration is required. Preschool storytime is December 19 at 11 am for ages 2-5 years. Yarn Art gift exchange will be December 15 at 10 am for ages 15 and up. Bring a small snack and a small (one skein or less) homemade item, wrapped. The group will play games and swap gifts.

North of 50 meets December 18 at 11:15 am for ages 60 and up. Books and Beyond hosts Holiday Bingo December 18 at 3:30 pm for grades K-5. Spine Crackers book club meets December 19 at 3 pm and will be reading “The Gift of the Magi” by O. Henry and “A Redbird Christmas” by Fannie Flagg.

Pelion High wrestling team meets Brooklyn-Cayce on December 18 at 5 p.m. Varsity basketball holds their Panther Holiday classic on December 20 at 4 p.m.

Pelion Senior Center will hold a Christmas Party December 14 at 12:30 pm. The seniors will play games and have crafts this week. Lunch is served daily.
