Heavy August rains caused flash flooding in Lexington County last Thursday. Several days of rain saturated the soil and left several areas under water. The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department reported high water flooded a few cars at Churchill Apartments near Saint Andrews Road. Sheriff’s deputies Lexington EMS and Irmo firefighters helped residents in lower level apartments. The flooding lifted dozens of cars and pushed them to other areas of the parking lot. Officials say no one was injured. Motorists on I-26 ran into flooding, and flash flooding was reported near River Bluff High School along Corley Mill Road.
