Abird’s life can have drama and excitement! One day last week, my chickens in the coop suddenly started to make a loud ruckus. We ran outside to find a large hawk sitting calmly on top of the coop. The panicked hens were not happy!

Birds are beautiful creatures, and the Backyards Saturday on Sept. 7, 1-3 pm at Saluda Shoals Park, will feature bluebirds for National Bluebird of Happiness Day. The Columbia Audubon will be the special guest. Call 803-772-1288 for info.

The Town of Irmo has a position opening up on the Okra Strut Commission at the end of September. The Commission meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday at 6:15 pm. This is a 3-year term.
