Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will present a special program on January 6 at 5:30. This program will recognize the Wise Men coming to Baby Jesus. The program will consist of caroling, explaining the symbols of the Chrismon Tree, and refreshments following the program. Everyone is invited to attend.

The library will Cook the Book with Italian on January 8 at noon. The idea behind Cook the Book club is simple: everyone chooses a recipe from the same book and prepares it. Then the group gathers to share the results. This event is for ages 18 and up.

Technology training will be January 2 at 10:30. This event is for ages 18 and up and registration is required.

Preschool story time is January 2 at 11 am for ages 2–5 years. TeenScene meets January 10 at 6 pm for a Harry Potter Potions Class. This event calls all witches, wizards, and muggle-borns to a Hogwarts Potions Class. Get sorted into your Hogwarts House and prepare potions in a Snape-free environment. Wizard attire is encouraged.

Pelion High varsity boys’ basketball will play Chapin at 4 pm December 28. JV basketball will play at Columbia High December 29 at 5:30 pm and Varsity boys basketball will play at Chapin at 6 pm on December 29. Varsity basketball will play Wagener-Salley on January 5 at 2 pm. Varsity wrestling meets at North Central at 8 am January 5. JV basketball plays at Edisto January 10 at 6 pm. Varsity basketball plays Lexington January 10 at 6 pm.

Pelion Senior Center will celebrate the New Year with a Bingo party December 31.

All schools are out for the holidays.

Condolences to my precious husband, Benny, who lost his brother Jack last week. He will be greatly missed.
