Hospital board elects new leadership

Dr. Tripp Jones is the 1st physician to serve as board chair in Lexington Medical Center’s 48-year history. He will lead the 21-member board for the next year. Dr. Jones is a retired oncologist who worked with Lexington Medical Center more than 30 years. He served as the hospital’s Chief of Staff and as chair of its Cancer Committee. He graduated from Clemson University and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Other officers are Vice Chair Donny Burkett, Secretary Bruce Burnett and Past Chair Richard Westbrook. Burkett is a CPA with Burkett, Burkett & Burkett. Burnett is a retired finance leader with the SC Budget and Control Board. Westbrook is an executive vice president at South State Bank in Columbia.
