We Care in Chapin is critically low on food. Grits, canned meat and vegetables, rice, peanut butter, cleaning products, and toiletries are some of the needs. When at the store, grab a few extra items and drop them off at 1800 Chapin Road or call 803-345-3244 to help.

 Want to write the story of your life? The Irmo Branch Library will have a 4-part memoir-writing series starting February 8, , 2-3 pm. These classes will equip you with creative ideas, writing prompts, and constructive feedback to get started inking your life on paper for kids and grandkids. Registration is required. Kids love playing with tractors, dump trucks, and bulldozers! The National Association of Women in Construction’s kids discovery and awareness day will provide a safe place for exploring, seeing and touching heavy machinery. Kids of all ages will get to explore fire engines, dump trucks and more. The event will be held March 21, 9 am-1 pm, at Lexington Technology Center, 2421 Augusta Hwy. The cost is $3 per person or $15 for a family.  

The NAWIC is also looking for sponsors and exhibitors to showcase hands-on learning activities. For more information, send an email to nawicolumbia@gmail.com .

Irmo’s 3rd Thursday block party will be held February 20, 6-9 pm, at Irmo Village Shopping Center, 7571 St. Andrews Rd. This community event focuses on the arts and the business community for a night of networking, fellowship and fun!
