Hwy 55 helps grieving family

Posted

In a not so random act of kindness, last week local cafe Hwy 55 held a fundraiser for the family of 12 year old Stacy Bagwell, who died in a car accident in Pelion.

Since her favorite color was blue, they made a blue shake in her memory and donated proceeds from sales Saturday, June 6, to help cover the cost of her funeral. Through sales of nearly 900 “Stacy Shakes” and additional donations, they raised over $6,000 for the family. Thanks to Jay Webb and the Hwy 55 crew for great support of our community.

A NEW CHILD care, Village Kids Academy, is opening on South Lake Drive in the large house-like building that previously housed Mid Carolina Logistics. With a fenced in play area and handicapped access, they are also DSS licensed.

Find them on Facebook or email for registration information at villagekidsacademy@outlook.com

GREAT NEWS for all Waffle House fans. The South Lake Drive restaurant near I-20 will reopen soon. If you’re looking for work, they are hiring new staff, too.

RED BANK UNITED Methodist Church on South Lake Drive will begin in-person worship services Sunday, June 14, with 8:50 and an 11 am services.
