Lexington businessman Johnny Jeffcoat announced he is running to represent District 6 on Lexington County Council.
The district includes Chapin and parts of Irmo and Lexington.

Lexington businessman Johnny Jeffcoat announced he is running to represent District 6 on Lexington County Council.
The district includes Chapin and parts of Irmo and Lexington.
Jeffcoat previously served on county council and retired in 2016. He now seeks to fill the seat Erin Long Bergeson has held since replacing Jeffcoat.
The Republican primary for District 6 will be Tuesday, June 9. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
