Inspiration makes you feel better naturally

Live the life you love

At a 2013 writer’s conference in Baltimore, MD, an improv crew acted out positive solutions to life’s trials.

None of the actors spoke a word.

Several authors were chosen to share their struggles and challenges in life.

They shared stories of job loss, declining health, divorce and loss of loved ones. The common theme was struggle and unbearable pain.

When the improv crew began acting, their facial expressions, body language and group interaction was amazing.

I sat intently watching, wondering how they knew what to do next.

The silence was powerful.

After five acts, I began to see a pattern. They used inspiration to help us feel better.

Inspiration defined has two meanings.

First, it is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something. Second, it is the drawing in of breath.

The next time you feel stuck or even sick, try using these three tools to help you feel better naturally.

Breathe - It’s hard to believe, but breathing is one of the most overlooked things we need to live healthy, happy and peaceful lives. Without it we die. With plenty of it, we can shift lots of uncomfortable things and feel better naturally.

Positive Mental Attitude - Witnessing people being positive is powerful. Cultivating a positive mental attitude in the face of illness or challenges will help you feel better 100% of the time.

One little tip: It takes regular practice to master it. There are many books on this topic. My best word of advice is to work on noticing how your mind works. Do you think negatively? Do you look for solutions naturally? Does it take you more time due, perhaps, to your upbringing?

Remember you are not looking for a quick fix. Instead, stay positive by releasing negativity. When you mentally are unable to maintain a positive mental attitude try my next suggestion.

Joy - The energy of joy is a high vibration. It is naturally inspiring.

To harness this energy simply think about what makes you incredibly happy. Notice how your energy shifts and you begin to feel better.

A more powerful option is to go and do what brings you joy.

My joyful activities include writing, painting, traveling, quiet beach walks and playing with my three chihuahuas. No matter how bad I feel or what I’m facing, doing things that I love has a transformational effect on my mind and physical energy. I’m sure it will on yours too.

“It is neither wealth nor splendor; but tranquility and occupation which give you happiness.”

Thomas Jefferson
