Irmo Branch Library presents Murder on Main Street

Posted

Presented by the Friends of the Irmo Branch Library along with LTC Hospitality Solutions, “Murder on Main Street” will return to downtown Columbia.

This encore performance of the sold-out 2024 mystery dinner show will take place Friday, July 25, at The Venue on Main, located directly across from the historic Grand Theater.

Set in 1910, the play begins as the popular Vaudeville EXTRAVAGANZA heats up at The Grand, until chaos erupts when a knife-thrower’s assistant collapses outside the theater with a knife in her back.

The show, written by playwright Licia Jackson, brings to life a cast of characters and possible suspects, including a politician, an ex-boyfriend, a politician's wife, a reverend and a jealous magician.

One audience member who correctly identifies the murderer will be named the “Super Sleuth” and win the grand prize.

Attendees will enjoy dinner, prizes and live performances by local actors.

Guests are encouraged to dress in 1910s-era costumes for a chance to win a prize in the costume contest.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are available on Eventbrite by searching “Murder on Main Street.”
