February has been a month to remember for Ole Miss guard Devontae Shuler.
The former Irmo High standout earned SEC Co-Player of the Week honors for the 1st time in his career. He led the Rebels to an upset victory over previously 10th ranked Tennessee on Feb. 2 and followed it with a game-winning shot in overtime against Auburn 4 days later.
On Feb. 13, Shuler made his return to Columbia as Ole Miss faced the University of South Carolina. He put on one of his best collegiate performances as he scored a career-best 31 points in the 81-74 victory over the Gamecocks.
It was Ole Miss’ 4th consecutive victory.
“It means a lot,” Shuler said. “I’ve never had a win here. I just locked in because I knew this was my last game here and for my team and family in the stands. I did what I did to make them happy.”
Shuler’s career night was his 7th this season with 20 plus points. It was also the 10th consecutive game in which Shuler reached double figures in points.
