It’s time to be thankful

What are you thankful for? I am grateful for family, health, teens who do chores without being asked, cups of coffee on the porch, birds chirping in the early morning and a clean house. This year is coming to a close, thank goodness!

We can enjoy fall colors and raking leaves and acorns. Did you know acorns are edible? How about acorn pancakes for breakfast? Almanac.com tells how to prepare and cook acorns. If you don’t want to prepare and process your acorns, you can buy acorn flour on Amazon.

Have pines in your yard? Pine needle tea is an old fashioned remedy to help ward off colds. Pine needle cough syrup can keep that cough away! Growforagecookferment.com has some conifer needle recipes for you to either laugh at or be brave enough to try.

I WANT to recognize Tim Slice and the staff of Generations of Chapin for organizing a Veterans Day treat for the residents. Everyone seemed to enjoy the special Veterans Day Parade that circled the driveway for veterans and all other residents.
