University of Dayton sophomore guard Jordan Davis was named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week after leading the Flyers to a pair of wins in conference last week. The Dutch Fork High School graduate averaged 23 points and made 13-19 three-pointers (.684) in wins at George Washington and at home over Massachusetts. He scored a career-high 25 points against George Washington, including 20 in the second half as the Flyers came back from 22 points behind to grab a road win. Davis scored another 21 points in the Massachusetts victory, shooting .750 (6-of-8) from distance. In addition, he drew the primary cover on the opponent’s toughest perimeter defensive assignment in both games. George Washington’s Terry Nolan, Jr. came into the game as a reigning A-10 Player of the Week, and was held to 6 points on 2-10 shooting. Davis shared A-10 Player of the Week honors with Justin Keir of George Mason. He’s currently averaging 10.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 16 games this season for the Flyers. Dayton is 11-5 overall and is one of three teams that are 3-0 in the A-10. The Flyers are at Virginia Commonwealth on Wednesday and at St. Bonaventure on Saturday.
