Boating Safety Class: Mar. 16, 8:30 am-4:30 pm at ECPI University, Suite 300, 250 Berryhill Road in Columbia, SC. About Boating Safely, taught by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, is certified by South Carolina DNR. Students who pass the course will be issued a South Carolina Boater Education Card. Cost is $30 per person or $50 for 2 family members sharing materials. Students under 12 must be accompanied by an enrolled adult. Build Your Own Rain Barrel: Mar. 15, 8:45 am-12 pm at Town of Irmo, 7300 Woodrow St in Irmo. GAL Training: Free 30-hour volunteer Guardian ad Litem training teaches about the Family Court system, how to recognize abuse and neglect and how to communicate with children, foster parents and every party involved in the case. Prepare/Enrich Training and Certification: Apr. 30, 9:30 am-4:30 pm, at Zion Lutheran Church, 226 Corley Mill Rd., Lexington. Pastors of any denomination & therapists are invited. This training event is designed to help pastors and therapists administer Prepare/Enrich Inventories and to teach them how to facilitate and give feedback to pre-married and married couples using six core categories and over 20 supplemental exercises. P/E helps couples identify their strengths and growth areas on topics such as communication, conflict resolution, spiritual beliefs, financial management and many more marital issues.
