Angela Cooper, Lexington Two’s chief human resources officer and organizational development officer, has been named the S.C. Personnel Administrator of the Year.
Cooper has been in human resources for nearly 24 years and focuses on expanding teacher recruitment. Cooper seeks out non-traditional candidates and has implemented support systems for new educators such as Lex2Leads.
According to the press release, Cooper has helped reduce teacher vacancies by almost 30% compared to last school year.
“I am deeply honored to receive the South Carolina Personnel Administrator of the Year award,” Cooper said. “This recognition reflects the collective dedication of our team to excellence in human resources and I am grateful for their unwavering support. Together, we will continue to foster a workplace environment that values and uplifts every individual.”
Superintendent of Lexington Two, Brenda Hafner, praised Cooper for her dedication and improvements in the district.
“Dr. Cooper understands that in order to grow our workforce we must work to develop ongoing supports for our staff and recruit and retain the most excellent workforce available.”
