Lexington Chamber gets set for Business Lexpo trade show

The Lexington County Chamber and Visitor Center is getting set once again for its annual trade show.

For a second year, the Business Lexpo event will be held at the Barr Road Sports Complex, and the organization anticipates a big turnout, saying it will be the biggest one yet.

“We’ve got more than 90 exhibitors this year,” said the Chamber Membership Director Leigh Lowery. “We’re excited about it. There’s a variety of businesses and services in Lexington County and some around the Midlands showcasing products and services for the public.”

The chamber continues to look to enhance the event, this year adding a networking hour, wherein exhibitors will be able to network with one another an hour before the event opens to the public.

While there are familiar businesses taking part, Lowery said there are about 10 new businesses that are taking part — she hinted at a new nonprofit for veterans and a business offering STEM/STEAM education through Legos as being among the exhibitors.

Returning after launching last year is the Flavors of Lexington, which features restaurants offering samples. So far, seven restaurants have confirmed to participate, Lowery said.

In addition to all the networking and business growth opportunities there are plenty of chances for participants to win free stuff, Lowery enthused.

“We’ve encouraged exhibitors to come up with door prizes and giveaways at their booths. Throughout the evening, we’ll be making announcements — we’ve added a DJ this year, DJ Troy Fite. He’ll provide a different atmosphere,” she said.
