BLOWFISH NEWS

The 2019 Lexington County Blowfish roster is beginning to take shape heading into the holiday season.

“It’s exciting to have our roster really filling out at this point in the year,” General Manager Theo Bacot stated. “As we continue to get these quality players in, our staff feels we are really seeing a champion being built before our eyes”.

The Blowfish recently announced the signing of three new players to the organization.

Clemson sophomore outfielder Bo Majkowski is the first Tiger to commit to the Blowfish. Majkowski was limited in his freshman season, but before enrolling at Clemson, he was an all-region selection his junior year of high school.

Majkowski is originally from Johns Creek, Ga. His father, Don, played football at the University of Virginia before playing 10 years in the NFL as the quarterback for the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Indianapolis Colts where he earned the nickname “The Majik Man”.

Banks Woodley joins the Blowfish this summer from Shorter University. Banks is from Jemison, Ala. where he attended Jemison High School.

As a freshman, Banks pitched 52.1 innings, finishing the season with a 3.78 ERA. Impressively, his strikeout to walk ratio was 57 to 18 and surrendered just two home runs all season long for the Hawks.

Ashby Smith is another Gaffney High School product who will suit up for the Blowfish this season. Smith is a third baseman who is entering his first season at Presbyterian College.

He was the 5th overall shortstop prospect coming out of South Carolina in 2018. He joins fellow Indian alumnus Houston Wright on the 2019 roster. Smith can play multiple positions in the infield this summer for the Blowfish.

These three join Houston Wright, James McConnon, Jacob Rye, Brady Smith, Josh Senter, and Brock Robinson as announced signees for the 2019 season. Keep up with the latest Blowfish news at www.goblowfishbaseball.com .
