Lexington County Blowfish conclude 2026 season

Posted

Blowfish baseball has reached its end this year as the team concluded its final slate of games last week.

It was an up-and-down 21st season for the Blowfish, but all year long fans from all over the area made the trip to the Lexington County Ballpark for a night of family fun and entertainment.

The team finished its season with an (18-29) record, but had a bit more success in front of the home crowd, going (11-12).

Lexington County played six games last week, three on the road and three at home. The results were not favorable for the Blowfish as the team only won one of those games.

The lone win came as the team took on its Glowfish mantle and hosted the Catawba Valley Stars. Lexington County got out to an 11-0 lead through the game’s first three innings and never looked back.

Amare Counts led the way with two home runs and seven RBIs for the Blowfish.

Four different pitchers took the mound for the team and combined to record eight strikeouts while allowing eight hits, five runs, five errors and six walks in seven innings of the game.

Catawba Valley scored all of its runs in the game’s final four innings but was never able to make a push to make the game competitive.

Lexington County added to its lead in the fifth inning.

In the other games last week, the Blowfish lost big to the Martinsville Mustangs, Macon Bacon and Florence Flamingos.

The Blowfish season came to a close this past Saturday as the team welcomed the Forest City Owls.

It was a low-scoring affair on a hot, rainy night that saw the Owls take the game 4-0.

Lexington was shut out for the second time in a row against the Owls, losing 11-0 in their previous meeting at Forrest City.

While the end result may have been unfavorable for the team, the final night of the season was all about showing love for the fans.

The theme of the final game was Fan Appreciation Night. As part of the festivities, the Blowfish held their annual end-of-season jersey auction.

This season’s jerseys were designed to commemorate the 250th year of the country. Fans were able to bid for the right to win their favorite player's jersey during the game.

In total, there were 42 jerseys up for grabs.

Below are the scores for every game during the Blowfish’s final week of the 2026 season.
