Posted

Juan Isidro Velasquez-Rocha, 44, of Lexington County, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree on Thursday, May 22.

Velasquez-Rocha was sentenced to 20 years, and under South Carolina law, he is required to register as a sex offender when he is released.

On May 2, 2022, Lexington County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of sexual assault that occurred in Lexington County. Law enforcement discovered that two minor females, who were 11 and 15 at the time of the disclosure, had been sexually assaulted over the span of several years by Velasquez-Rocha, the media release said.

The release further said the investigation discovered photographic evidence of him committing the assaults.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Solicitor Whitney Taylor.

Velasquez-Rocha will serve his sentence at the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
