The SCDOT, Central Midlands Council of Governments and the COATS MPO have partnered together and are working on a feasibility study for the U.S. 76/176 Corridor.
The study area includes parts of Newberry, Lexington and Richland Counties, as well as the towns of Little Mountain, Chapin, Irmo and the City of Columbia.
It covers areas from Harbison Boulevard to I-26 in Richland County and U.S. 176 (Broad River Road) to Linder Field Road in Newberry County, though the section of U.S. 76 from I-26 to U.S. 176 is not included because of ongoing road plans in that area made possible by the Richland County penny tax.
This study aims to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, better support pedestrians and cyclists, and promote smart and sustainable growth.
Visit the SCDOT website to take the survey.
