Brittany Nicole Marie Tomberlin, 30, of Gaston, was arrested Sept. 23 on one count related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.
The felony charge carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
According to investigators, a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led authorities to Tomberlin.
According to a press release, the investigation determined she distributed files of child sexual abuse material.
The case was investigated by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
