One Lexington County woman has been sentenced to 13 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

43-year-old Batesburg-Leesville resident Julia Renae Mullinax was sentenced after evidence was presented in court showing that she intended to defraud Lowe’s Home Improvement.

Mullinax had planned to make purchases on the commercial credit accounts of several local businesses while posing as the authorized representative of those accounts.

Mullinax, along with others, did this scheme at multiple Lowe’s stores from 2023 to 2024, the press release read.

She will have three years of court-ordered supervision upon her release and has been ordered to pay Lowe’s $47,234 in restitution. Mullinax is not eligible for parole.
