Lexington Police are seeking information about other potential victims after arresting a man accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

The department announced July 13 the arrest of Lexington resident Michael Bruce Worthy, 32, for the alleged assault, which took place July 11.

“During this investigation, detectives found that Michael Worthy had been at the home of a family friend and engaged in unwanted and unlawful sexual contact with a fifteen-year-old girl,” a department news release states. “When interviewed, Michael Worthy admitted to sexually assaulting the juvenile to include intentionally touching her genitalia with his hands.”

According to Lexington Police, Worthy was arrested immediately after being questioned by the department. He is charged with second degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and was transported to the Lexington County Detention Center before being granted a $75,000 bond with restrictions that he have no contact with the victim, her family or anyone under the age of 18.

The release says that detectives have found evidence in the case that raised concerns that other juvenile victims may have been sexually assaulted by Worthy.
