The Lexington Police Department is looking for applicants for their Citizens Police Academy that will begin on Tuesday, March 11.

The citizens police academy will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. for nine weeks. This will take place at the Lexington Police Department’s training facility and may occasionally visit off-site locations.

This course will be given by Lexington Police Department personnel and includes an overview of police operations. The academy allows participants to understand the day-to-day operations and build stronger partnerships with the community.

Applicants must be 18 years of age, a resident or business owner in Lexington and pass a background check. The class is limited to 25 participants.

Those who participate will graduate on Tuesday, May 13, with the ceremony being held at the Town of Lexington Municipal Complex located at 111 Maiden Ln. in Lexington.
