Election Day is about two months away, and the Town of Lexington has five names in the running for seats on town council.
Incumbent Gavin Smith has been on council for a little over two years and is running for his first full term. Last week, he announced his steering committee made up of 12 locals.
"The committee, led by twelve local leaders, will advise Smith throughout the campaign, offering input on key priorities and citizen outreach, creative solutions to the Town’s most pressing issues, and ways to keep citizens engaged pre- and post-election," according to Smith's campaign website. "The committee is made up of small business owners, community leaders, and young people—voices that reflect the heart of Lexington and the future of the community."
The committee includes Jeremy Addy, Amy V. Cofield, Lachin Hatemi, Elizabeth Trenbeath, CJ Hudak, Azmi Jebali, Michelle Sarokas, John Carrigg, Otis Rawl, Rutu Bhonslé, Matt Thompson and Payton Harmon.
“I’m honored to have these respected voices from across our Town join my campaign steering committee,” Smith said. “Small business owners, community leaders, and young people all bring something unique to the table, and I’m grateful to have their support as we work together to ensure an even brighter future for our community.”
Election Day is Nov. 4.
