Lexington woman charged with bringing drugs into prison

Posted

A Lexington woman was arrested for bringing drugs into the Camille Graham Correctional Institution.
The SC Department of Corrections Office of Investigations and Intelligence released the arrest warrants March 8 for Cinnamon Demetria Chantell Towns, a correctional officer at Camille Graham Correctional Institution.
Towns, 29, of Lexington, is charged with trafficking in methamphetamines more than 28 grams, furnishing contraband to a prisoner, criminal conspiracy and misconduct in office. Her charges involve bringing two packages of meth into the prison hidden in a fast food container. She was fired after her arrest.
SCDC reminds members of the public that after an arrest, the burden of proof is on the state to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt within a court of law.
