Lexington’s new 55+ community continues to welcome active adults

Posted

Situated behind Kohl’s and Five Below off Sunset Boulevard in the town of Lexington is the area’s new age-restricted active adult community.

Named Cross Creek, this neighborhood has 53 lots anyone 55 years or older (this includes couples where one is 55 or older and the other is under 55) can start exploring now to see if it’s the right fit for them. With the potential for 13 more lots in the future, this active adult community will feature a pickleball court upon completion.

The different homes vary in size from about 1,600 square feet to about 2,600 square feet. The smallest available homes are two or three bedrooms with two bathrooms and a two-car garage. Most options are single-story, but the largest home has five bedrooms, and three bathrooms and is two stories with a two-car garage.

With options for customization for each homeowner, this neighborhood aims to afford its residents a low-maintenance lifestyle.

Prices start in the high $300,000s and sales representative Debi Lafayette can be reached at 704-778-6361 if you wish to tour or learn more. You can also visit www.drhorton.com/south-carolina/columbia/lexington/cross-creek for more information.

The most recent Census data shows that almost 18% of Lexington County’s population is 65 or older. Locals 55 and older want more options for staying in the area while being among others in the same stage of life, Lafayette told the Chronicle, so she expects Cross Creek homes to go fast.
