Just Hours prior to New Year’s Day, Gilbert-Summit Senior Center members had their own New Year’s Eve party. Director Donna Neel, said the members were looking forward to wearing their party hats and having a time of fellowship and snacks.

Last week members shared memories with each other from past New Year’s Day activities. January 2019 will be a busy month for members, Neel said. Activities include weekly arts and crafts, morning trips to the SC State Museum, Mission Lexington, lunch and fellowship at Beulah United Methodist Church, bowling, and the Palmetto Senior Show at the SC State Fairgrounds. Neel said the members will also enjoy weekly games such as bingo, corn-hole, dominoes, and exercise with line dancing, and videos. If you are a senior age 60 or above and would like to become a member of the Gilbert-Summit Senior Center, call 892-5745 for information.

Women on Mission members at First Baptist Church in Gilbert will have a Bible study beginning January 15 and running through February 19. The Bible study will be from Melanie Shankle’s book, the “Church of the Small Things.” For information on this class, call 892-3708.

Beulah United Methodist Church will have a free blood screening February 4 from 7:30 until 9:30 am. To schedule an appointment, call Alice Wallace at 892-3161.
