Library story times online

Do you, your children or grandchildren love good stories?

The Pelion Library makes virtual story times and informational talks available on Facebook and YouTube. The library encourages the community to access their web page www.lexcolibrary.com where you can find upcoming virtual programs and book talks as well as covid-19 information.

A link at the bottom of the web page allows you to subscribe to the library’s YouTube channel. The library is not open to public browsing, however, curbside pickup is available for patron holds/requests. Just place a hold on the books you need and when they are received at the library you will receive a call to arrange an appointment (day and time) to pick them up.

The library sets up appointments for you to use computers, all following rules and conditions set forth by the County Administrator, the Library Board, and the Governor.

Pelion Ruritans met Thursday, July 23, with a meal and practicing social distancing. Special guest speaker was John Rebolj from the Pelion Police Depart ment who gave information about events around Pelion.

We had 3 guests. During the meeting, Steve Neese presented Pastor Jerry Branham with the flag taken down at the Veterans Memorial Service Memorial Day.

Each year the retired flag is given to a Ruritan who served in the armed forces. The original flag retired in 2015 hangs in the Lutheran Building where Ruritans meet. The 2016 flag was presented to Frank Stover; 2017 to Tim Treaster; 2018 to Steve Neese; and 2019 to Sam Jackson, Sr.

Happy birthday to Dalton Olawsky, Kristen Hartley and Julia Podzon.
