Man arrested after high-speed chase

Police arrested a 27-year-old man after a high-speed chase through Lexington County Dec. 26.

Police began the pursuit on Platt Springs Road and ended after the suspect hit another car in Lexington, reported Paul Kirby of the Lexington Ledger.

According to SC Highway Patrol Lance Corp. Sonny Collins, a trooper was on patrol Thursday when he attempted to stop Christopher L. Frick, 27, for speeding.

When the trooper activated the lights and siren on his patrol car, Frick sped up, initiating the pursuit.

Officers from several other agencies joined in as Frick led them toward Lexington before turning onto Industrial Drive.

At some point, he made contact with another vehicle before the troopers were able to get him to stop.

No one in the 2nd vehicle was injured.

Frick has been has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, driving under the influence, driving under suspension, failure to stop for a blue light, hit and run, and multiple drug charges.
