Man caught stealing truck in Pelion

Zachary Lail is accused of breaking into a residence on the 1000 block of Main St., Pelion police reported late Tuesday.

Lail left the scene and is accused of stealing a White Chevy Silverado from the Peanut Store May 1.

Later that same day Lail was stopped in the stolen truck by Pelion police. He confessed to the vehicle theft and burglary, police said.

He was arrested on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle over 10k, burglary 1st-degree, and petit larceny. He is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center on a $84,000 surety bond.
