Marshall Monroe Buff

Marshall Monroe Buff, 86, son of the late Leonard Hobson Buff, Sr. and Eliza Gunter Buff, died unexpectedly on January 19, 2021, while on vacation in Florida. He was born November 22, 1934, and was a life long resident of West Columbia, SC. Marshall was a member of Mt. Hebron UMC where he attended faithfully his entire life and sang in the choir for 70 years. He is a 1954 graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School and retired as a produce truck driver. He loved music, his church and family, enjoyed family reunions, and never met a stranger.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be the held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Mt. Hebron UMC Cemetery. Due t

COVID-19 social distancing will be observed and facial masks requested.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 10 years, Helen Lindler Porter Buff, a great niece and great nephew. Surviving is his brother, L. H. Buff, Jr., of Spartanburg and sister Elizabeth Buff Sloan (Jim) of Edgefield, SC, a niece Buffie Sloan Gnegy (Steve) of Summerville, and nephew James W. Sloan, II (Leigh) of Edgefield, SC, a great niece and three great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to Mt. Hebron’s Music Fund, 3080 Leaphart Road, West Columbia, SC 29169.
